Echo: Diesel dips for May
After climbing throughout the month of April, diesel prices dipped slightly as the new month began. The average price barely lowered the last week of April from $2.597 to $2.595 per gallon, but dropped to $2.583 per gallon by May 1, according to the Energy Information Administration.
Prices are still about an average 32 cents higher than prices were a year ago this week. This may be a short-lived dip in prices, as prices traditionally increase as Memorial Day approaches.
