Go Gold

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer is the second leading cause of death for children, behind accidents. However, according to the American Cancer Society, more that 80 percent of children diagnosed will survive five years or longer because of medical advancements.

There are many ways you can help children, like our buddy, Alex Lopez. For example, you can:

– Help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by participating in the Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer.
– Shave your head and raise money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
– Buy a bracelet for Connor’s Cure, which supports cancer research at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
– Donate to an individual child’s treatment. If you personally do not know anyone, do a search for “cancer” on a website like gofundme.org.
