Memorial Day

Whether you’ll be enjoying Loessfest, shopping the sales or cooking a barbecue this weekend, take some time to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Memorial Day at 3 p.m. is the National Moment of Remembrance when all Americans should pause for a moment of silence.

Although Memorial Day didn’t become a national holiday until 1971, its roots trace back to the Civil War. To learn more about Memorial Day, visit the Department of Veterans Affairs website.
